The project is being led by the NRC&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nrc.canada.ca\/en\/research-development\/research-collaboration\/industrial-rd-groups\/metaltec-industrial-rd-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">METALTec industrial R&amp;D group<\/a>\u00a0under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nrc.canada.ca\/en\/research-development\/research-collaboration\/programs\/advanced-manufacturing-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Advanced Manufacturing program<\/a>, with funding from Quebec&#8217;s centre for aluminum R&amp;D,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cqrda.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">CQRDA (in French only)<\/a>, and through the contribution of METALTec industrial participants.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of this project is to address growing challenges in the vehicle manufacturing industry that, over the last decades, have started a digital transformation leading to the digitization of manufacturing, known as Industry 4.0.
