A strategic positioning for Quebec\u2019s defense ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The Carrefour qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de la fabrication additive (CQFA)<\/a> would like to congratulate its partner, the Centre de m\u00e9tallurgie du Qu\u00e9bec (CMQ)<\/a>, on securing $1,641,900 in funding under the Regional Defence Investment Initiative (IRID).<\/p>\n

This announcement marks a major turning point for Quebec\u2019s advanced materials and additive manufacturing ecosystem.<\/p>\n

With this investment, CMQ will become the only laboratory in Canada to obtain Nadcap accreditation\u2014an internationally recognized certification essential for validating materials used in military equipment and other critical applications. This positioning will significantly strengthen companies\u2019 ability to access defense supply chains.<\/p>\n

The integration of new state-of-the-art equipment\u2014including a high-power LPBF 3D printer, a CMT Additive Pro welding system, and vacuum melting capabilities\u2014will further consolidate Quebec\u2019s expertise in the development and qualification of strategic dual-use materials.<\/p>\n
