Quebec well represented at the France Additive Forum 2025 in Strasbourg

From July 1 to 3, 2025, the CQFA – Carrefour québécois de la fabrication additive and PRIMA Québec – Pôle de recherche et d’innovation en matériaux avancés du Québec took part in the France Additive Forum held in Strasbourg. This major event brought together international players in the field of additive manufacturing (AM).

Several representatives from Quebec’s ecosystem spoke to showcase local expertise:

  •  Luc Pouliot (Polycontrols) opened the plenary session with a presentation on Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing (CSAM) technology.
  •  Ahmad Ibrahim (Groupe CTT) presented applications of AM on textiles, particularly in the biomedical sector.
  •  Ana Tanase and Julie Béjean, students from Prof. Audrey Laventure’s group (Université de Montréal), presented their research during the poster session.
  •  Alexandre Bois-Brochu (Centre de métallurgie du Québec) led a technical session on DED processes and presented projects involving Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), including work on Monel 400 and Zirconium 705C alloys.
  •  Denis Akzam (Ariadne Geometry Inc.) contributed to a plenary on 3D print file cybersecurity, also addressing standardization and procedural modeling challenges.
  •  Marie-Pierre Ippersiel, President and CEO of PRIMA Québec, led a strategic plenary bringing together researchers and industry leaders to discuss key themes: additive manufacturing standardization, procedural modeling, and cybersecurity of 3D printing data.

The forum highlighted international collaboration between ecosystems from France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the UK, and Quebec – all united around innovation, science, and industry.

CQFA and PRIMA Québec extend their sincere thanks to France Additive for their warm welcome and outstanding organization of this high-impact event.
