Sustainable aviation: Polytechnique Montréal and Safran renew their strategic partnership
Fifteen years after signing their first framework cooperation agreement, Polytechnique Montréal and Safran are renewing their strategic partnership. Led by Daniel Therriault, Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, the Chair in Additive Manufacturing of Organic Matrix Composites (FACMO) is developing new manufacturing processes for composite material parts intended for the aerospace sector. The initiative brings together six faculty members from Polytechnique Montréal, most of whom are affiliated with the Laboratoire de mécanique multi-échelles (LM2). In addition to Safran, the project is financially supported by industrial partner Dyze Design, as well as by the Conseil de recherche en sciences naturelles et en génie (CRSNG) and PRIMA Québec, for a total of approximately $5.1 million over five years.
