Additive Manufacturing: Quebec Expertise Shines in Strasbourg

From July 1 to 3, 2025, PRIMA Québec – Pôle de recherche et d’innovation en matériaux avancés du Québec – and the CQFA – Carrefour québécois de la fabrication additive – proudly represented Quebec at the France Additive Forum, alongside several players from our additive manufacturing (AM) ecosystem.

Quebec Expertise in the Spotlight

  •  Luc Pouliot (Polycontrols) opened the July 1 plenary by presenting Cold Spray (CSAM) technology.
  •  Ahmad Ibrahim (Groupe CTT) highlighted the challenges and advantages of AM applied to textiles, particularly for the biomedical sector.
  •  Ana Tanase and Julie Béjean, students from groupe d’Audrey Laventure (Université de Montréal), showcased their projects during the poster session.
  •  Alexandre Bois-Brochu (Centre de métallurgie du Québec) led a technical session on DED processes before presenting work on the development of Monel 400 and Zirconium 705C valves using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF).
  •  Denis Akzam (Ariadne Geometry Inc.) addressed the crucial issue of cybersecurity in 3D printing files.
  •  Marie-Pierre Ippersiel, President and CEO de PRIMA Québec, chaired a strategic plenary on standardization, process modeling, and data security in 3D printing.

This forum demonstrated the strength of international synergies, bringing together participants from France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom… and Quebec! A community united in service of science, innovation, and industry.

The CQFA extends its thanks to its key partner, the Centre de métallurgie du Québec, for its participation, as well as to the France Additive team for their warm welcome and the organization of a rich and relevant program covering the entire additive manufacturing value chain.
