The Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue will launch a laboratory to 3D print houses.

Additive manufacturing serving housing in Quebec! The Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue has received funding to launch a house-printing laboratory. Nearly one million dollars have been granted by the Quebec government to create an additive construction lab and support the Regroupement innovant pour l’impression d’immeubles 3D (RI3D). The goal: to accelerate housing construction through the prefabrication of 3D-printed modules — a solution tailored to Quebec’s harsh winters. The first 3D-printed house is expected to be built in Amos in the summer of 2026.
